Nview problems7/6/2023 ![]() Saying that tho, I suppose it ain't too bad if the graph at "Tom's Hardware Guide" is anything to go by. Only got around 8500 after a clean install with no other apps loaded (not OCed). Still getting crap "3DMark" scores as well. I'll suppose I'll just have to wait until "Nvidia" release the 41.03s for "W98SE" (that's if they decide it's worthwhile). I have installed what I believe to be the most recent drivers from the Dell site - file ref R58746, dated. I think the old drivers has a bug in it that prevents nView from coming back once it is used. So my "Nview" problem must definately be a problem with the 40.72 Dets (as some will have already determined). Try downloading the latest drivers either here or from NVIDIA. To be totally honest I don't really under stand the purpose of the Nvidia desktop management software (nview). Clear space on the hard disk and defrag (a number of times) to improve swap space availability. Also, Ive been unable to download windows updates for a long time. Turn off Nvidia nview desktop management software. Ive tried using many pc bug fix programs but nview.dll prevents them from running. Ironically, the problem was connected to nview.dll. I figure I may have to do a clean install of "Windows".Ĭlick to expand.I don't know what that's supposed to tell me!:|Īnyway, I finally gave up trying to figure out why I coudn't get my damn "Geforce 4" working properly, so I decided to do a clean installation of "Windows" (Jeez, I hate doing that).Īfter installing "WIndows" on the freshly formatted C:\ partition I installed the 40.72 dets and the latest "WDM" driver and "MyViVo" software and everything is as it should be with regard to recording the audio while capturing video. I read that the nview.dll file is an nvidia graphics card file, so, I tried to reinstall my graphics card - without success. I haven't tried tried installing the WDM driver or video capture software yet, so I don't know if my other problem is fixed yet. I have also used various "Nvidia" file/registry removal and registry cleaning tools as well (DD, NVCleaner, Detonator 30.xx To 40.xx Fix, RegCleaner, RegClean etc) in between installin different drivers.Īnyway, I installed the 40.72 "Detonators" again only to find out that the "Nview" now doesn't work. I ended up going back to the last WHQL version (30.82 IIRC) and tried various versions of the WDM driver (v1.08, v1.11, v1.12 and v1.16), but the problem still existed so I nuked them so I could try out the 40.72 once again. I have tried various different "WDM" drivers, as well as the "Leadtek" and "Detonator" display drivers (uninstalling and what not in between of course). Note I am trying to promote an investigative approach here not a critacal one.I have been having problems with the ViVo on my "Leadtek Ti4200 128MB" for some time (no sound captured in videos for some reason). I am now left wondering if its an issue related to graphic cards 32/64 bit or operating system that the Beta version addresses for some users but not others. I have managed to stuff the FreeStyler directory with the Beta copy of 3D Easy View and I am still in that uncomfortable position where my virtual lights move but I cannot see any light beams. ![]() Understanding those changes could be helpfule in finding that definitive answer. Telling people to download the Beta version and to copy a bunch of files around does not really explain whats happening. This can be an issue where the user is familiar with the computer systems but not with lighting systems and when you are coming at Freestyler and 3D Easy View you could well be in the dark about both. Something that may be worth amending to your basic locked thread description. None of them totally definitive there's been a lot of people who come from a history of using Windows XP and earlier who are aware that you can set up windows to hide or not the. ![]() There is a lot of discussion on using the Beta version to solve this "No Light Beam" issue. I am starting with the understanding that 3D Easy View is a third party piece of software. ![]()
